Downtown will now administer Tori’s complete songbook, as well as new works. Spanning seventeen studio albums, the catalog includes her 1992 debut Little Earthquakes; Under The Pink, featuring the worldwide hit “Cornflake Girl,” first released in 1994; as well as Boys For Pele, which debuted the UK chart-topping single “Professional Widow” in 1996.
Over the years, Tori has released music on all the major labels as well as the renowned classical label Deutsche Grammophon, for whom her label debut Night of Hunters won an Echo Klassik Award in 2012 and with which she also made history by becoming the first woman to have a top 10 album on the US Billboard charts in the classical, alternative, and rock categories simultaneously. It was followed by the orchestral album Gold Dust in 2012, and then Unrepentant Geraldines in 2014 — Tori’s eighth Billboard top 10 album.
In 2015, Tori produced the original cast recording of The Light Princess, the musical adaption of the Scottish fairytale by George MacDonald, for which she wrote the music and lyrics. Two years later, in 2017, she released the critically-acclaimed Native Invader — another Billboard top 10 album. In addition to her Echo Award, she has received eight Grammy Award nominations, as well as five MTV VMA nominations, and was listed on VH1’s “100 Greatest Women of Rock & Roll” in 1999.
Tori has frequently used her music to bring attention to numerous social campaigns regarding sexuality, feminism, politics, and religion. She played an integral role in the foundation of the Rape, Abuse & Incest National Network (RAINN) — a crisis hotline for sexual abuse victims — and served as its spokesperson for many years, continuing to work with the organization throughout her career.
“Tori Amos joining Downtown is an absolute honor for me, personally and professionally; her music has been the soundtrack to my life and the catalyst for my career path," said Bea Koramblyum, Vice President of Business Affairs at Downtown. "She is one of the most influential and beloved women in all of music, with an impressive catalog spanning over 30 years that's not just creative, but inspirational. From her work with RAINN, her connection to her fans, and most importantly, her deeply moving words, she continues to uplift and encourage listeners. Downtown could not be more proud to be on Team Tori.”
